Yuri Kot – People Artist of Ukraine, Professor and Head of Piano Department No.1 at Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.
From 1986 to 1993 - got musical education at the Kyiv State Conservatory (now National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music) as a pianist and as a post-graduate student at the piano department of the above Academy (under the creative guidance of Professor Valery Kozlov).
Member of Ukrainian Rachmaninov Society and Ukrainian Association of Prizewinners of International Piano Competitions.
1988 - Prizewinner of the National Lysenko Piano Competition (Kyiv).
1990 - Diploma-holder of the All-Union Rachmaninov Piano Competition (Moscow).
1992 - Prizewinner of the First International S. Prokofiev Piano Competition (St.-Petersburg).
1993 - Prizewinner of the First International Competition for chamber music performance “Golden Autumn” in category Piano Duo with Irina Alexeychouk (Khmelnitsky).
1996 - Prizewinner of the 45th International ARD Competition in category Piano Duo with Irina Alexeychouk (Munich).
1997 - Prizewinner of the 6th International Murray Dranoff Piano Duo Competition with Irina Alexeychouk (Miami).
Performs a lot as a soloist and as a piano duo with Irina Alexeychouk in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, U.S.A., Japan, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and many others.
He has also served on juries for international competitions:
International S.Prokofiev young pianists competition (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), International competition for young pianists, violinists and cellists (Tbilisi, Georgia), International competition for young pianists GRADUS AD PARNASSUM (Kragujevac, Serbia) etc.
Also taught master classes in Ukraine ( International Kyiv Summer Academy ) , Serbia (Kragujevac, Novi Sad) , Japan (Tokyo Kioto, Hiroshima) , Chamber music master-class at Gut Hornegg (Austria)
Yuri Kot’s students are Prizewinners of many national and international competitions.
